Common questions

How do I share a list with someone?

Open Lists, open the list, and tap Share this list. Choose Just the list or List + journal, then tap Send invite and send the link by AirDrop, Messages, WhatsApp or any other app.

Anyone who opens the link can join and edit the list, so only send it to people you trust. They need Today's Pick installed and to be signed in to iCloud on their iPhone.

What's the difference between "Just the list" and "List + journal"?

With Just the list, you both draw from and edit the same list, and each of you keeps a private journal.

With List + journal, anything either of you marks as done from that list, including its photos and notes, appears in both journals. Entries from your other lists stay private.

If you turn journal sharing off later, it only applies to new entries. Entries that were already shared stay shared.

How do I stop sharing a list?

Open the list and tap Share this list again. The share screen shows who has joined, and has a button to remove people or stop sharing.

My lists aren't appearing on my other device, or a shared list isn't updating.

Sync runs through iCloud. Check that:

• both devices are signed in to iCloud (Settings, then your name at the top)
• both have an internet connection
• your iCloud storage isn't full
• both are running the latest version of Today's Pick

Then open the app on each device and leave it open for a minute. Changes usually arrive within seconds but can take longer on a slow connection.

How does rarity work?

Every item is common, rare or super rare. In a draw, a rare item is about a third as likely to come up as a common one, and a super rare item about a tenth as likely.

How do I change the draw style?

Tap the style icon at the top of the draw screen and pick from the glass jar, fortune sticks, capsule machine, scratch card, spinning wheel or card flip. You can also shake your iPhone to draw.

How do I add the widget?

Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Today's Pick. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen and tap Customise.

The widget shows what you drew today. If it looks out of date, open the app once to refresh it.

How do I change the language?

Today's Pick follows your iPhone's language, in English or Traditional Chinese. To set it for this app only, go to Settings, find Today's Pick in your list of apps, and choose Language. That option appears when your iPhone has more than one preferred language.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete any list, item or journal entry inside the app. Deleting the app removes everything stored on that iPhone.

To remove the copy in iCloud as well, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, open your iCloud storage, find Today's Pick and delete its data. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Which devices does it work on?

Today's Pick runs on iPhone with iOS 17.6 or later. iCloud sync and list sharing need an iCloud account. Everything else works without one.
